Come to have multicultural fun at the CPAC Summer Festival
A summer carnival organized by the Chinese Professionals Association of Canada (CPAC) will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2011 at Albert Campbell Square just outside the Scarborough Civic Centre ( 150 Borough Drive , Ontario , M1P 4N7 ). It will be a day of great fun for everyone in the family .
CPAC Summer Festival is an annual event organized by CPAC along with about forty other organizations and associations to help newcomers integrate into and contribute to Canadian society . This year is the 8 th annual Summer Festival . Funding will be provided in part by the Department of Canadian Heritage through the Celebrate Canada program. The theme of this year is ¡°We Are Canadians¡± which will be a one-day, multi-function event with various activities such as arts performances, tug-of-war, sports, games, contests, ethnic food tasting and lucky draw , etc. Over 5,000 people are expected to attend the carnival.
Since its in ception in 2004, it has been the biggest s ummer o utdoor f estival within the Chinese community in Toronto . ¡°This year, the Summer Festival has expanded to include the components of the diversity and multiculturalism of society,¡± said Mr. Stan Yu, Executive Advisor of CPAC and the Festival's event chair. ¡° All the activities are connected to address different ethnic and Canadian cultural heritage while working toward a common objective ¨C celebrations that contribute to building a sense of pride and belonging to Canada and appreciation of the diversity in the community , ¡± added Yu.

The CPAC Summer Festival will be held at Albert Campbell Square , from 12:00pm to 7:00pm. CPAC is inviting different ethnic groups to perform in the carnival. Audition will take place on June 12 at CPAC Conference Hall ( 4150 Finch Ave. East , Scarborough ).
