Professional Day


 

CPAC Professional Day is an annual event on career and professional development for internationally trained professionals (ITPs). The event consists of empowering keynote presentations, educational breakout workshops and a marketplace/job fair where service providers and employers showcase their services/organizations to the participants.

In 2010, there were 10 breakout sessions and 47 exhibitors and employers, attracting over 1200 attendants from the Chinese and other ethnic communities. It is one of the few large-scale events in the GTA that help ITPs establish themselves professionally and advance in their careers. It serves both newcomers with professional backgrounds and established individuals who are looking for career advancement.

This year, CPAC Professional Day marks its 10th anniversary. The theme for the event is Soaring to Career Success. Speakers will come from various sectors including government agencies, educational institutions, training and career development service providers, community agencies, employers and sponsors. Workshop topical areas of the Professional Day 2011 include:

    * Access to regulated professions – accounting/finance, engineering, healthcare, etc.
    * Workplace culture and communications
    * Labour market info and job search strategies
    * Get inspired and motivated

     

    All our breakout sessions are handpicked with careful considerations on topics and presenters to meet the needs of career development and enhancement. The marketplace and job fair on this event day will be one of the largest ever.

    To encourage more members to take advantage of this event, we have made it a zero-cost conference for the participants and lunch will be provided. We expect more than 1200 participants will attend the event of this year. In order to help successful planning and coordination, certain registration procedures must be followed.
