CPAC professional development programs are aimed at serving the interests and needs of the members in professional employment and career advancement. At CPAC, our missions includes helping the members integrate into the professional workforce and succeed in their career. We are committed to quality and professionalism in program development and delivery. All trainers, instructors, and speakers are dedicated, experienced professionals. Some of them are leading experts in their fields or award-winners.
 

Employment Preparation Training
  • Career Counselling Services: If you need to have your skills assessed, learn about your career options or training programs and services at CPAC and in the community, please book an appointment with our counsellors.

  • Resume Writing Workshops: Learn the fundamentals of resume writing; Polish your resume and make it standout; Let a professional help you with the final touch.

  • Interview workshops: Learn the steps in preparing for an interview; Strategies to handle hard questions; Practice through mock interviews.

Advanced English Training Courses
CPAC English courses are designed to help the members upgrade their language skills and become ready for professional employment or career advancement. LINC level 5 is the starter course at CPAC.

  • Pronunciation Training Program is for those who are fluent in English but want to speak more like a native speaker. The instructor works with each individual on his/her particular difficulties as well as on the common problems of the whole linguistic group

  • English for Engineers (Profession-specific English) is designed for members with engineering background to learn engineering terms (occupational terminology) and upgrade their language skills to the level required for practicing engineering in Canada

  • English for Professionals is the course for advanced learners who want to bring their communication skills a notch higher. Areas of learning include business writing, public speaking/presentation, discussion facilitation, telephone skills etc. 
     

Skills Bridging Programs
These are short-term, skill-bridging programs that help participants fill in the gaps between the skills they possess and the requirement of Canadian employers. As skill gaps differ from profession to profession, each program varies with regard to duration and delivery.

  • Civil Engineering Technician Training is a program that prepares civil engineering professionals to enter the profession at the entry level 
     

Mentoring Program
Mentoring is a new initiative at CPAC, aiming to help members in personal growth and career development. The mentor, an established professional, provides advice, guidance and inspiration on professional and career development to the mentee on a one-on-one basis.

 

Skills Development Workshop Series
These dynamic and interactive workshops are the ideal learning format for busy professionals. Focusing on one area, each workshop enables participants to learn and practice the skills in two or three sessions. Available workshops include:
