Nurturing the growth and future of young Canadians is the core mission of the Education Foundation of CPAC. Founded in 1999, the Educational Foundation of CPAC has provided $139,000 worth of 131 monetary awards in 15 categories to secondary and post-secondary students in local communities.

Dr. Zhao further comments that there are a record high number of applicants this year, with a total of 140 qualified applications, competing for 16 awards in three categories for the various scholarships, awards and bursaries. This year the Foundation received applications from almost all provinces in Canada as well as several other countries, and the screening process will soon be completed. Applications were received from excellent students which made the screening very competitive. This is also an indication of how meaningful the scholarship program is. CPAC and the Education Foundation of CPAC are so pleased to have this great opportunity to serve our society by providing annual awards to excellent Canadian students.

Dr. Zhao introduced the history of the CPAC Annual Award Gala which has been held since 2000, its significant impact on the community as well as some details of this year's Gala. He also emphasized the importance of the ¡°Professional Achievement Awards¡± established 2009 to 4 new immigrants who have successfully transitioned into new careers in Canada and have become very successful professionals in their respective fields.

This is one of the biggest annual events in GTA, where other than CPAC members, special guests and officials from all three levels of government, business leaders, associations and professional groups will also be in attendance. Dr. Zhao extends a warm-hearted invitation for all to attend this premier annual Gala. He says, ¡°Together we will celebrate the accomplishments of the award winners, spend an evening with old acquaintances and maybe meet some new ones, while enjoying a sumptuous dinner along with an exhilarating performance.
